Périgueux Canoe-Kayak actively participates in all the sporting events of the year by sending its best athletes. Since 2010, the club has distinguished itself at national and international level.
Manon represents France at the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, then at those in Tokyo in 2021. She finished in 7th place in K2 in 2021. She is the first kayaker in Dordogne at this level of competition. She had represented France, 6 years earlier, at the YOG in Singapore with a nice 8th place.
The club's first individual world title in 2015, that of Pierre and Damien in C2 Sprint, followed the following year by Manon in Classic Wildwater, 27 years after the last French holder of the title. The three athletes won 4 medals at Pau in 2017. The following year, Manon obtained the title she lacked, that of World Champion in Downhill Sprint.
The club has been bringing back podiums and gold medals for 4 years at the World Cups, especially in Sprint, with a first place in K2 in Duisburg in 2019.
For 10 years, the club has totaled 11 gold medals at the European Championships in Wildwater and Sprint, with the title of European Champion in Sprint in K2 over 500 m.
The club has been accumulating Wildwater and Sprint podiums for 10 years, thanks to complete athletes, who know how to surpass themselves throughout the season and be present on the French podiums. The succession of young people in the making is assured.
French Parasports Championships
With 5 titles of Champion of France including 3 in 2019, Jérôme surpasses his category and transforms a handicap into strength. At 32, he fights against his competitors, against prejudices and for victory. An exceptional course. In 2016, during the CDF SA in Périgueux, 9 podiums were won by athletes trained at the club, in collaboration with APEI and Papillons Blancs.
The club participates less regularly in the French Cup, taking into account the schedules of the athletes, but in which gold medals are won though.
Shards of Sport
Regularly rewarded by the departmental Olympic movement, our athletes have won the hearts of Périgueux inhabitants for 10 years, notably with 6 “Super Éclats” and 1 Coup de Cœur in 2019.
